In this Article, it talks about how The Senate urged President Bush to take action in Sudan because of the mass genocide that is taking place. The resolution they came up with also told the UN to make up a peace enforcement in Darfur, where at least 2 million people have been forced to flee their homes, and thousands of people have been killed. It’s a good thing they are doing something about this, because as it was said in the video that we watched earlier today, “They send troops in Iraq, why not Darfur?”

The video that we watched today was sad and I hope that we can do something about the situation there. In World Lit we watched the movie Hotel Rwanda, which is similar because the people in this video are also being killed by a stronger group. In this movie they say an interesting line, which goes something like, "when people in the west will see this (genocide) on TV, they'll look at their TV set and say, how horrible is that in Africa, and then go back to eating their dinner." I think people in the United States are often guilty of this line because the worry of a stronger group overtaking our nation or driving people out of it is so little. It is something that is so foreign to us that we can't even relate to what those in Darfur are going through. Just imagine though what it would feel like to be in their shoes.
