El Nino to stay until spring

The CPC, an agency of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has expected that the el nino will stay until at least spring 07. The El Nino is the warming of waters in the equatorial Pacific Ocean. It can cause swings in weather from Asia all the way to South America. It can not only cause flooding but also droughts. CPC expects this El Nino to last from November of this year to March of next year.

This would mean that the temperature would be warmer than usual in western and central Canada, wetter portions in the south United States and drier areas around the Ohio valley areas. Other parts of the world El Nino would effect is by creating drier areas around the south eastern Asia to Oceania area. It would also be wetter in east Africa and central America.

The El Nino is just an example of what partially global warming and what humans can cause to the earth. If the El Nino continues to last as long as it is going to for this year and part of next the world's climate regions are going to change drastically. Winters will be much warmer, which would equal less snow. There would also be more droughts in the areas where water is needed.
