Gas takes back seat at Honda

Recently Honda announced that they have developed a process to produce ethanol more efficiently. Now they say they will start producing cars that will run on 100% percent ethanol. Honda will produce 30,000 to 40,000 flex fuel vehicles that will run on either 100 percent ethanol or a ethanol-gas based fuel. Honda will produce these vehicles in the Brazilian market first due to Brazil's rich sugar cane industry.

We are in a time were we desperatly need a new kind of renewable fuel. Rising gas prices and enviormental concerns have sped up the desire to create more efficient fuels. I firmly believe that if Honda can effectivley mass produce these 100% ethanol vehicles then we have taken a bigger leap towards finding a cleaner and more efficient renewable fuel. I believe that we are slowly getting towards achieving a cleaner effcient fuel. Globalization can also be incorporated into this. The book talks about how the pro-globalization people believe that globalization will allow for the sharing of technology and ideas throughout the world. If this new technology can be shared across the world, we might see in time more 100% ethanol based cars acorss the world. This is whether or not Honda will share the ideas they discoverd or they will keep them to make profits. No matter what happens though the point is clear, The world needs a cleaner more efficient renewable fuel and we need it fast.
