Massive snow storms

Lately there have been catastrophic snow storms throughtout the mid-west [although i have yet to see any in Minnesota]. The storms have caused many schools, airports and even interstates to close. Some meterologists even said that there could be up to two inches of snow every hour. The snow across the mid-west ranges from 2-12 inchese in various states and locations.

It has been difficult for police and other officials to get around because of all the snow. Other vehicles are also having a difficult time to travel. There have been many pile-ups and accidents. Roads have been forced to close even because of all the snow. There has been a total of three deaths so far from these massive storms.

I am excited for the snow to come but i am also worried about the safety of travelers. Since it is getting close to the holidays many people will be traveling and it could get dangerous.

I have to argue with everyone on the topic of global warming; warming is a global average as global temperature increase slightly. I honestly don't think that the problem has gotten that bad. Remember this summer? When the state experience a drought? Just 'cause the temperature drops doesn't mean the weather patterns change. Mrs Hartman said in class that the state is considered a seasonal desert; we're just going through a dry spell. Global warming shouldn't have that big an impact on our snow production, not when the state is right on average with cold temperatures. Now that I think of it, we've been working up to this; all the previous years haven't have nearly enough snow as the mental image of MN wintertime should have. To sound cliche, I love winter, snow (it's my favorite mineral), skiing, hot chocolate, Macs... and I agree with Dotty Dahling<3 that snow is most welcome before school (although the school newspaper last year pointed out that the district might be "too good" to give out a snow day). And that I'm also nit-picky on airlines (particularly those starting with an "N" and ending with a "orthwest").
