Mexican Meth Migrating

Mexican Meth Migrating

I found a really interesting article that I thought deals with an issue that we the people of central Minnesota are facing along with the state and country as well. This issue that I speak of is the growing production and usage of Methamphetamines. This article is really well written and it goes into depth about the importation of Mexican drugs that use chemicals that are actually imported from Asian countries. However these chemicals do not go straight from Asia to Mexico. They are routed all the way around the world, through all modes of transportation.

Although this form of globalization is not a positive one, I believe that it is still a form of globalization nevertheless. I do not condone the act of drug smuggling in any way shape or form. However I find it very interesting that many of the people dealing in these countries have done away with any previous hard feelings towards any other countries, and now they decide to work together for the common evil. I realize that it is not the cream of the crop that are trafficking these drugs, but even so I just find it interesting how people all over the world are uniting over the production and distribution of this drug.

On the other hand many countries are trying to come together to combat this form of contemporary globalization, which I think is commendable. China for example is trying to put a stop to the distribution of chemicals for meth, even though the meth is not kept or distributed in their country. I think that it is really promoting good working relations with other countries, and trying to help other countries with their problems.

Although this is not a positive form of cooperation and working together I still thought that it was a good example of contemporary globalization, and I would love to hear others opinions on the matter

The website that I found is displayed as a link, and I found it very helpful and interesting!
